A card deck reimagined as an artistic object. Memory, ritual, and nature converge into a new everyday essential.
25,00 €
Conceived by Studio Ranarivelo, this project explores the transformation of a familiar social object into a fully realized artistic piece.
Rooted in the memory of playing Gin Ramy with family and friends, the work reflects on the relationship between play, ritual, and design. The traditional codes of the deck are carefully preserved, yet subtly reinterpreted. Hearts, spades, clubs, and diamonds evolve into an organic visual language inspired by the intricate natural studies of Kunstformen der Natur by Ernst Haeckel.
Developed through an extensive hand-drawing process and meticulous refinement, each card contributes to a cohesive system where function and artistic expression coexist. The production and packaging were conceived as integral elements of the project, extending the visual and conceptual universe beyond the deck itself.
